Citizen initiative and government participation

Space we give to residents with ideas to make their neighborhood or surroundings better or more beautiful

Citizens' initiative means that residents themselves come up with plans or activities that improve the living environment. Think of setting up a neighborhood vegetable garden, an activity for young people or a plan to save energy together.

Government participation means that the municipality joins such initiatives by residents, organizations or businesses. We help if the initiative contributes something positive to the neighborhood or society. This can be done in various ways: by letting go, encouraging, supporting, contributing ideas or - if necessary - setting rules.

The municipality helps only if the initiative fits within the policies and goals of the municipality. The board of mayor and aldermen assesses whether an initiative receives support.
