Request a Driveway

An entrance or exit is a connection from a property to a public road. Do you want to build a new entrance or exit? Or make changes to an existing entrance or exit to a public road? If so, you must submit an application to the municipality.

Terms

The following conditions apply to an entrance or exit:

  • The road remains usable;
  • The road remains safe;
  • The appearance of the entrance or exit must fit in with the surroundings;
  • Green spaces remain protected;
  • Parking spaces will be retained;
  • The driveway is no wider than 4m in the case of a residence or 6m in the case of a business. This may be deviated from in the case of a well-founded motivation.

Is the public road a county road

Is the public road a provincial road? Then you must apply for a permit from the province to construct an entrance or exit. You do this through the digital Environment Counter. Choose in this desk for the activity 'Driveway construction or change'.

Cost

The cost of constructing the driveway will be borne by the applicant. This also includes the costs of, for example, relocating cables, pipes and light poles in the public area.
