MFA Bakel

In November 2024, the city council approved the preferred scenario for the realization of a new MFA (Multifunctional Accommodation), a central meeting place for Bakel.

The municipality wants to create a living room for Bakel where people can meet and stay. The preferred scenario enables a visible central location in the center, which makes the village more lively and attractive. The new MFA will soon offer plenty of opportunities and possibilities for use. The preferred scenario provides for a theater auditorium and six multipurpose/meeting rooms of varying sizes. In addition, the library will have a place in the MFA and (supporting) catering establishments will be established, so that people can also have a small snack and drink in the living room.

Mission and vision

In the preliminary process, a core team was formed consisting of various parties from Bakel, such as De Stem van Bakel and Musis Sacrum. The core team has met three times in the preliminary process where various topics were discussed in the run-up to the council decision taken in November. One of the items discussed was a mission and vision for the new MFA in Bakel. The mission and vision describe the right to exist, the core values and what we want to achieve with the MFA in the future. Together with the core team we arrived at the following mission and vision:

Mission

To provide a wide range of activities in the village, for the village and of the village of Bakel, promoting associational life, culture and vitality in an equal and approachable way and where trust, cooperation and inclusiveness are the basis.

Vision

To create an accessible and inviting social meeting center in the vibrant heart of Bakel to give a positive impetus to livability.

Recruitment of management/operating foundation

A management/operating foundation for the new MFA is being established. We are still looking for a treasurer.

Next steps realization of new MFA

One of the next steps for the realization of the new MFA is the elaboration of the sketch design into a final design. In addition, the municipality is working on other follow-up steps, such as concluding agreements and preparations for the planning procedure, which must be completed before construction can start.
