Participation regulation

This contains agreements on how we deal with participation

The participation ordinance is a document containing agreements on how the municipality involves residents and other stakeholders in making and implementing plans and policies. This ordinance states how participation and the right to challenge are regulated. So everyone knows when and how they can participate or do something themselves for their neighborhood. Residents want clarity about their role in projects and policy questions. It is also important for administrators and officials to have something to hold on to. That is why the ordinance describes not only what the municipality does when it takes the initiative itself, but also what happens when residents take the initiative. In this way, everyone involved has the same picture of the process in advance. This helps to keep expectations clear and realistic.

To ensure that these agreements continue to fit with how we now work together in the municipality, we are working on a new participation ordinance. We will involve residents, council members and civil servants. We will use the experiences and learning points of recent years to make the new rules more appropriate to practice. The new regulation will replace the old participation regulation from 2000 and is expected to be adopted by the end of 2025.
