Playgrounds Bakel

You may have already noticed. Unfortunately, the renovation of the playgrounds in Bakel is taking longer than we had hoped. We’re very sorry about that. We expect to begin work on the playgrounds on Bergroosstraat, Bernhardstraat, De Helling/De Hilt, Korenbloemstraat, Marne, Mouwersel, and Soersel in the spring of 2027.

There’s also some good news: we expect to tackle the playgrounds on Bottelroosstraat, De Bremmen, De Buunder, Hoekendaalse Velden, Klimroosstraat, Korenbloemstraat, Neerakker, and Zand before the end of this year.

We therefore ask for your patience a little longer. Until then, you can still enjoy the existing playgrounds.

In recent times, residents of Bakel could contribute ideas about the renovation of the playgrounds in their village. Many people have shared their ideas. Thanks for that!

The designs are ready

All reactions to the first designs have been reviewed and the plans have been finalized. The final designs can be viewed on the digital village square(external link).

When are we going to change the playgrounds?

The work will start in the spring of 2026. During the work, the playgrounds can be temporarily not or less used.

Sustainable and conscious reuse

In the context of sustainability we relocate some playground equipment to another place in the village. This way we use the equipment sparingly. Which play equipment this concerns, can be found on the final designs.

From Wednesday, August 20, the preliminary designs for the playgrounds can be found on the digital village square(external link). View the designs and give your opinion. Together we make the playgrounds even more fun!

We would have liked to share the first designs with you next week, but unfortunately that won't be possible. We need more time to make designs that meet your wishes. Therefore we will share the first designs on August 20. You can then give your opinion until September 5. Then we will start working again to incorporate your opinions into final designs.

In recent weeks we have visited the playgrounds in Bakel. There has also been the opportunity to fill out an online questionnaire about the playgrounds.

What did we do?

We asked residents and children what they think is important for the playground in their neighborhood. Many good ideas and wishes were shared during these conversations.

What information did we collect?

All responses were collected in a Plan of Wishes and Requirements. This plan is the basis for the designs of the new playgrounds. The plan includes:

• Which play values have been chosen the most.
• How we can design the play area better.
• What's not good about the playground right now.
• Other key points residents mentioned.

How do we move forward?

We use this input to make designs for the new playgrounds. We try to take into account the wishes of the neighborhood as much as possible. The design will soon be shared on onsgemertbakel.nl(external link), the digital village square. That way everyone can view it and react to it.
