Expansion of the Bakel power grid
Contractor Hurkmans has been commissioned by Enexis Netbeheer to expand the power grid in Bakel. This is urgently needed, as the power grid is becoming increasingly congested and overloaded.
What’s going to happen?
Many homes have solar panels, and more and more electric cars are on the road. The power grid, as it is currently configured, is not designed to handle this. To prepare the power grid for the future and prevent problems, it is being proactively upgraded. Hurkmans is installing 24 new utility cabinets and laying new cables. This work is taking place on nearly every street in Bakel. Where possible, the work is being combined with other projects. The new utility cabinets and cables will ensure that the power supply remains safe and reliable.
How will this affect you?
Work will begin later this year. The entire project will take about a year and a half. You may experience some inconvenience during this period. This may include:
- Road, sidewalk, and bike path closures with detours
- Temporary closure of driveways
- Power Outages
- Fewer parking spaces
- Construction traffic/excavators on the street
