Pumptrack in Handel
The pump track is ready and already in full use!
On Monday, August 10, Councilwoman Hanneke Coppens officially opened the track.

What is a pumptrack?
A pump track is an asphalt BMX track with turns and bumps, suitable for children and adults of all ages. Building a pump track is a way to encourage physical activity in an accessible and inclusive manner, suitable for anyone who can ride a scooter or bike.
The Location
We have built a pump track on the former korfball fields at Sportpark Handel. This location was chosen because its designated use (sports) aligns well with the construction of a pump track. In addition, there is already a parking lot on site.
The addition of a pump track is a valuable asset for the sports park and the residents. This location is easily accessible by both car and bicycle.
The pump track was created through close collaboration with a working group consisting of residents and experts in the sport.
The Plan
This fall, we’ll continue working on the outdoor area around the pump track. The parking lotin front ofthe pump track will also be renovated and neatly landscaped.
