Scheme incentive contribution to disconnect rainwater
Our climate is changing. Periods of high temperatures and prolonged drought alternate with extreme showers that cause inconvenience and damage. The municipality of Gemert-Bakel wants to arm itself against this development and is taking measures to counteract the effects.
Approximately 70% of all paving (roofs and pavement) is on private property. Therefore, you too can make an important contribution. To stimulate this, you can make use of a subsidy for disconnecting rainwater.
What is disconnecting rainwater?
The rainwater from homes and businesses is discharged into the sewer system via the downspouts. In many cases, this rainwater comes together with wastewater in one sewer and is discharged to the sewage treatment plant. Disconnecting means that you no longer drain the rainwater into the sewer, but collect it on your own property, for example in your garden.
