Help with Parenting and Growing Up

You may be concerned about your child’s development. Or you may have questions about parenting. That’s perfectly normal. Many parents face these issues from time to time. You don’t have to figure it out on your own. Together, we’ll look at what your child and family need.

The Youth Team is here to help you

Do you have a question about your child or family? Please call the municipality at 0492-378 500.
A staff member will note your question and ensure it is forwarded to the Youth Team. This team consists of expert professionals who support parents, children, and young people up to age 18 with a wide range of issues related to parenting and growing up.

What happens next?

A counselor from Team Jeugd will contact you. During this conversation, we’ll listen to your question and discuss together what’s needed. Sometimes we can help you right away with advice or a referral to a suitable organization in the area.
If you need more support, we’ll discuss the next steps together.

We do our best to help everyone as quickly as possible. However, there may be a waiting period before support can begin. If that’s the case, we’ll discuss with you what your options are and what help is available in the meantime.

What does Team Youth do?

The Youth Team consists of professionals who work closely with parents, children, and young people. Together with you, we focus on:

  • What’s Going Well
  • What you're facing
  • What solutions are possible?
  • What kind of support is best suited

We believe it’s important for children to grow up as normally as possible. That’s why we first look for solutions close to home. Often, parents, family, school, clubs, or local organizations can already help. Sometimes, extra support is needed. We’ll work with you to find a solution in those cases as well.

There are various organizations within the municipality that can support children, youth, and parents.
For example:

  • Support During Divorce
  • Debt Counseling
  • Refugee Services

Together, we'll figure out what kind of support best suits your situation.

Specialized Youth Services

Sometimes more specialized help is needed. In that case, we’ll work with you to determine which organization can provide the appropriate support. There may be a waiting period at a care provider. If that’s the case, we’ll discuss with you what options are available in the meantime.

Crisis

Outside of office hours (in the evenings and on weekends), if there is an urgent crisis involving children or youth (24/7), you can contact the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) at 088-0666987.
