Apply for electricity connections earlier
Starting October 1, 2026, municipalities will be able to submit housing projects and educational facilities to grid operator Enexis at an earlier stage. The municipality will recommend housing projects and educational facilities for priority consideration in the allocation of available grid capacity.
Key text: The deadline has passed. If you still submit an application, we will try to submit it by the end of October. However, these projects will be placed at the bottom of the list of projects already submitted to Enexis.
Are you building one or more homes in the municipality of Gemert-Bakel? If so, it’s important that you let us know about your project in a timely manner. The power grid is at capacity in many areas. We can submit housing construction projects to the grid operator earlier to secure a spot on the power grid so that you can get electricity for your new home. We’ll assess whether your project qualifies for this and submit the application to the grid operator.
Submitting a project does not guarantee grid capacity. The grid operator has the final say on the allocation of capacity.
To which projects does this regulation apply?
This procedure is intended for housing projects to be carried out within 10 years. These may include new construction, the conversion of existing buildings into residential units, or, for example, making a school more sustainable.
Step-by-step guide for your application
Please note: Going through the step-by-step guide may take some time, so start gathering the information now. Once you have all the information, you can fill out the form below the step-by-step guide.

Information about the project, such as the construction schedule, location, planning, and phasing. Please use this Excel sheet for this purpose .(external link) First save the document to your computer, then fill out the file. If you do not know all the details, make a reasonable estimate. After filling out the form, save the file. You will need it when filling out the form.
Important note: You can create the polygon for the project location in the web form under the step-by-step guide. You do not need to submit this via the Excel file.
Step 2: Fill out the administrative declaration
There are two types of administrative statements:
- Developers should fill out this administrative statement(external link)
- Individuals should fill out the administrative declaration below
Save the form after filling it out. You can upload it later. The Municipal Executive will sign this document after reviewing it.

Step 4: Submit the agreement between the project initiator and the municipality
If available, please include: a letter of intent, a cooperation agreement, an implementation agreement, a purchase agreement, a preliminary agreement, or a similar agreement that sets forth specific arrangements regarding the location, the housing development program, and the schedule.

Step 6: Submit other supporting documents
There are other supporting documents that make a project eligible for priority consideration, for example:
- Agreement between the municipality and the national government regarding federal subsidies for housing construction and/or integrated area development, or
- Performance agreements between municipalities and housing authorities or
- A decision by the municipal executive or council expressing a willingness to cooperate with a housing development project.

Have you completed all the steps? If so, fill out the form to register your project. The deadline has passed. However, you can still submit an application. We will try to submit it by the end of October. These projects will then be placed at the bottom of the list of projects already submitted to Enexis.
Procedure
Based on the information we receive, we will assess whether your project is eligible for an early application for a connection to the power grid. Based on these established policy rules(external link), we determine the order in which housing projects are submitted to the grid operator.
If, based on these rules, two or more projects receive the same score, a lottery will be held. We will, of course, notify the relevant project owners. The Municipality of Gemert-Bakel has now published the final ranking list. You can find it at the bottom of this page.
We must submit the registered housing projects to the grid operator Enexis no later than October 1, 2026. The grid operator will then assess how much capacity is available and allocate it. We do not yet know exactly how this process will work.
Submitting a project application does not guarantee a connection. The final decision on the allocation of grid capacity rests with the grid operator.
